Baseball season is here again! I wish I had some pictures to share of my handsome Brayden, but I'm not very good at toting the camera to games. I took it to the first game and left it laying on the bleachers. Thank goodness I have Scott to look after me! :-)
Scott has a new big fancy camera which makes my little throw-it-in-my-purse digital look like a pretend camera. Hard to get out my play camera when I'm sitting next to him without looking silly...but I digress.
Anyway, we started baseball offically last Saturday with the first game of the season. Brayden is playing instructional league this year, so they have a pitching machine. It is a bit unpredictable, but good, I think. Brayden plays for the Cubs. I found this to be terribly funny, since for the last two years he played for the White Sox. What is it with Brayden and Chicago baseball teams? So they played their first game last Saturday and they got beat. I mean really beat...like the game was called off via the mercy rule. His second game was Tuesday night and went remarkably better. They won! So we head into the weekend 1-1. He has a game on Saturday afternoon.
I like this league so much better than t-ball. They are really starting to play - meaning they keep score, they get three strikes, and they get three outs an inning. It is really neat to see the kids grasp the concept and begin to make plays. Brayden has a wonderful coach who takes a positive spin on the entire experience. Even when they lost, he was finding things to be excited and positive about.
Hopefully I can figure out how to share some of the awesome photos Scott has taken at the games. I'll let ya'll know how the weekend goes! :-)
