The latest

I just finished reading a great book. Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom. If you haven't picked it up, I highly recommend it. He is the author of Tuesdays with Morrie and For One More Day, both of which are also excellent. I guess I have an author thing. I find the ones I like and stick with them. :-) Anyway, read Have a Little Faith. You'll like it. And if you don't, you can blame me.
I spent this morning at the Second Harvest Food Bank stuffing food bags with some of my Junior League girls. The bags are to be distributed to school kids that are either homeless or on the free lunch program. I'm sure there are other things that qualify the kids for these bags, I just don't know what they are. The kids get the bags on Friday afternoon so they will have food over the weekend. Talk about a humbling experience. As I stuffed the bags, I couldn't imagine my children only having the contents to last them from Friday afternoon to lunch on Monday. The Second Harvest volunteer told us about a little boy who was so hungry by the time he got to school lunch on Monday, he ate his entire food tray before he got to the front of the line to pay for it. I am so thankful for the opportunity to impact my community in this way.

This evening, the Orsburns got the Halloween 2009 festivities underway. We went to the Trunk of Treats event at church. My kids are so stinkin' cute! :-) (Of course they are, right?!?) My little Brody is going as a dinosaur this year. Brayden chose the motorcross racer costume. I think they had a good time. Brody told us, "It was good" when we got back into the car. I think that is his stamp of approval. :-) It was freezing, and by the time we left, Scott and I were on the verge of frost bite. OK. Maybe I'm being a little extreme. We went to Starbucks to remedy the situation. :-) Brayden took this opportunity to eat as much of his candy as possible. :-) Afer we a Halloween. Thank goodness it only comes once a year!
That's my Motorcross Racer on the right...and my little dinosaur in the green next to him! I told you they were cute, didn't I?

Brayden - ready to get this party underway! :-)
