Announcing the arrival of Logan Patrick Taylor, born Monday, May 17, 2010 at 1:20 pm. His baseball cards stats: Weighs in at 6 lbs, 15 oz and a mighty 20.5 inches tall!
Logan started making his was into the world shortly after midnight, when Sarah headed into the hospital. Thoughtful Uncle Keith called our house at 3:45. In. The. Morning. After we were woken up, I couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up and went on to the hospital. We spent the rest of the day waiting on him to make his grand entrance. He was stressed a little during delivery - he had his cord wrapped around his little neck. He was an early bird (wasn't due until June 20) so his lungs needed some extra support. He was transferred to the Children's Hospital NICU. (For my medical friends, he had a pneumothorax.) By the next morning, his chest x-ray was improving. He got to go home on Thursday with his Mommy and Daddy.
Both Mom and Logan are doing well after an eventful first 48 hours. Logan has a bit of jaundice and is spending some quality time with the bili-light. :-)
As for Logan's Daddy....I tear up easily when I think about how quickly you can witness someone fall totally in love. I got to see Keith fall helplessly in love when his son was born. He was an amazing labor coach. You could see how deeply he cares for Sarah. I know in my heart he is going to be an amazing Dad. I am so lucky I get to watch.
As for me - I have crowned myself Logan's favorite aunt. I am his only aunt, but whatever. He already loves me.
