February Update

OK, so I've been absent for a while.  I'm busy.  Like crazy busy all the time.  I know, I have a lot of excuses.  Here is the run down on the Orsburn family happenings:

I'm back in school.
I work full time.
I have two boys, ages 9 (read: homework) and 5 (read: Mommy, I need you).
I have a husband (read:  Hey babe, do you know where my {fill in the blank} is?)
I have a house and a dog and a cat (read:  clean me, walk me, feed me).
I have a Facebook account, Pinterest account, and Instagram account all requiring massive amounts of time.
I have an iPhone which allows me to download instant entertainment (see above) and automatically corrects any spelling errors.  I apologize in advance for any spelling errors in the post that follows.
Unfortunately, I require sleep too.  And it is honestly one of my most favorite things.

So there you go.  Pitiful list, I know.

You read that correctly, I am back in school.  I am only taking one class - Probability and Statistics.  I am not a numbers person.  I spend too much time studying and doing practice problems.  This is the second time I've taken this little gem of a class.  I know why I did poorly the first time - I was likely carrying 15 other credit hours and didn't have the time to devote to it I have this time.  So far so good, though.  I currently have an A average which mostly amounts to extreme pressure to maintain.  I'm actually simulataneously logged in to my online study program while blogging.  Clearly, I'm getting a lot of studying done.

I work full time...for now.  I am making another career change.  I am currently the Supervisor for the Staffing Agency for MSHA.  On March 12, I will embark on a new nursing adventure.  I am transferring to the Stress Lab at JCMC.  For some reason, I find this incredibly funny....the stress lab.  Anyway, I will be learning to do stress tests (on the heart) and other stuff cardiovascularly related.  I'm excited to be returning to the hands-on side of nursing.  I love my management position, but it is time to step back and leave things behind when I clock out.  Plus - added bonus - it is part time for now.  I'm excited to have a couple of days a week to study and help out at Brayden's school.

Speaking of Brayden and school, this is his last year of elementary school.  I'd be lying if I said it doesn't make me a little tearful.  Next year, he will move to middle school.  This seems very big for my little boy.  Brody will move from preschool to Kindergarten next year, so somehow my babies are growing up and I constantly feel like I'm missing it.

Moving on...I've recently found myself spending unacceptable amounts of time on Pinterest.  If you're not already there, I recommend it.  :)  So, I've started making some of the fun crafty things I've found on there.  Below are two of my recent creations.

The Lollipop Tree
(terra cotta pot, a ton of dum-dum suckers, and a styrofoam ball)

Valentine Bombs
(Sorry for the blurry picture.  It is three sets of Rolos candy stacks wrapped in red construction paper and held together with a black pipe cleaner.  A small piece of black pipe cleaner stuck in the top for the wick.  Brody's valentines said, "You're dynamite!"  Brayden's valentines said, "You're the bomb."  And my kids win for the best. valentines. ever.

Below is my amazing husband after his second FULL maraton.  Scott is in the green shirt.  The other guys are his running buddies (both named Brad).  They completed the Myrtle Beach Marathon over the weekend.  I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of him.

And the last picture of the day:  Brody at Menchies.  While Scott was off galavanting at the beach, I auditioned for the role of Mother of the Year.  We ordered pizza Friday night, ate Burger King for lunch on Saturday, and capped off our steller nutritional weekend with Menchies for dinner on Saturday.  Ah, yes....when Dad's away, the kids will play.

I hate it, but blogging time must come to an end.  Brody is currently next to me having a melt down over something his brother did or did not do.  Time shall tell.  My goal is to update at least once a month, so I will see you again in March!

Love the update....good for you! And GOOD LUCK with it all. Appreciate you for not letting status quo get you down (meaning being a searcher who looks for what she likes and wants to do instead of just accepting a mediocre reality) :).
