First Place!

Brayden has been taking Architectural Engineering courses at Science Hill.  He chose this as his CTE (Career and Technical Education) course as a freshman.  He is only required to take two CTE courses for graduation, but he will complete his 4th and final semester of Architectural Engineering this spring.

In fall 2018, his CTE teacher entered one of his sophomore drawings in the Appalachian Fair.  Brayden's drawing earned him 3rd place among area high schools.  I found out about it because I regularly go to the high school webpage to read the announcements.  He got a ribbon and $15.  :)

My only photo is a screen shot of the announcements.  Haha!

This year, Brayden's teacher entered another one of his drawings in the fair from his Junior Year.  Brayden and Michelle went to the fair last night to check it out.  They called me on FaceTime from the fair.  Brayden's drawing won first place!  I instantly started crying - and I'm a little teary now just writing about it.  I have no idea what a "3-view orthographic drawing with isometric/c-site" is but it sounds like something really amazing.

I am so proud of Brayden!  I think he was kind proud of himself too.  I am excited to see what he does with this.  He has really excelled in this course during his high school career.

Last April, we got a post card in the mail from the school addressed to the "Parent/Guardian of Brayden Orsburn".  I flipped it over and almost couldn't believe the words I was reading.  Brayden was to receive an award at Underclassmen Honors Night at SH.  We had no idea what his award was for - and he didn't know he was getting an award until we got to the auditorium for the ceremony.  He received the award for Architecture and Engineering Design 3.

Thankfully, Nan and Pap were able to attend the ceremony.  It is really fun to see how proud my Dad is of Brayden's accomplishments.  (Nan is proud too, but Pap is special because it is kinda like B is following his footsteps.)

Lots of bragging on Brayden these days.  It isn't lost on me that every day is one day closer to graduation.  I'm taking all the advice on how to successfully navigate high school graduation without blubbering through the entire thing.  :)
