When we moved to Knoxville, Scott and I started a new Valentine's Day tradition. Each year, one of us is responsible for planning our date. It alternates each year. In 2021, I planned a fancy dinner date at a restaurant we had never been to. In 2022, Scott planned our date at The Cutting Edge, which is a cooking school. We were at a cooking table with several other couples and we prepared fancy French food, from appetizers to dinner to dessert. It was such a fun experience and the food was so good. Scott really stepped up our Valentine's date game.
In 2023, it was my turn to plan our Valentine's date. Last fall, we had been downtown to a street fair and noticed a glass blowing shop. They had signs in their window for workshops and we both thought that sounded like fun. I remembered this conversation and booked us for a glass blowing workshop at Pretentious Glass Company in Knoxville. We were booked on Valentine's, which was a Tuesday. I picked Scott up from work and off we went.
It was a really fun experience. We had no idea what to expect. We both got to choose an item to make. I opted for a glass ornament. Scott chose to make a high ball glass. We got to pick our colors - blue for me and black and white for Scott. The real glass blowers walked us through the entire thing, step by step, and helped along the way. We enjoyed learning a tiny bit about glass blowing. I don't know if we will ever do it again, but it was a really fun date for our Valentines; plus we have some really fun mementos from it.
I am so grateful for this Valentine of mine and the fun adventures we have together. 💙
