Crossing over....

I've crossed over into a brand new Mommy-defining territory. Sunday I visited the grocery store early in the day. A-L-O-N-E. Can you hear me? I went there alone! It almost never happens that I go anywhere alone, including the bathroom. :-) (You guys wanted to know that, didn't you?) The reason I say it was a crossing over experience - I actually found it very calming and relaxing. Brody was sweet enough to get our day off to a super-early start....meaning I arrived at the grocery store early. As in, I passed a guy doing his grocery shopping with his morning cup of Joe. He was one of the only people I passed....since there was almost no one there. There were no children, no crowd, and no lines. I leisurly made my way through the store without using any of the following phrases: "Stay with me." "You're okay....stop crying." "No, we are not buying that." "Put it back." "Sit down, please." "I'm not carrying you." "No, we are not buying that." "Where is your passy?" "How did this get in the buggy?" And my all time personal favorite, "No we are not buying that, put it back."

Seriously, I've composed an entire blog entry about my visit to the grocery store. If this isn't proof that I am a Mommy in desperate need of some alone time....well, then I just don't know. :-)

Ah what a great entry, giggle. I totally understand. My moment, though not as funny, was being at the store alone, and opening my purse to reach for my wallet, and first having to sift through some toys, a random pair of Ian's shoes (??) and a few other baby boy things before I could find it. Hilarious!
