The first event was Mom and Brayden Day. After Scott and Brody were successfully seen off, I asked Brayden what he wanted to do. "Go to Dollywood," was his reply. He talked me into it and off we went.
I think everyone who visits Dollywood has their picture made in this spot at some time or another. I would have to dig, but I know I could find separate pictures of each of my family members in front of the butterfly at Dollywood.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Brayden is still a little afraid of the roller coasters. Unfortunately for Brayden, his mom and traveling partner, was not. We stood in line for the Thunderhead (wooden roller coaster) for 15 minutes or so. When it was our turn, Brayden wouldn't do it. You're thinking Carla didn't either, right. Wrong. I left the young lad under the watchful eye of one of the roller coaster attendees while I rode. It was probably not one of my finest Mother-of-the-year moments, but he forgave me and saw I got through it without any catastrophe. Brayden was not afraid of the water rides though. We spent most of the day soaking wet going from water ride to water ride. Dollywood loves their water rides. :-)
A week or so later, the youngest Orsburn and I enjoyed Mom and Brody Day. This was a much smaller scale - We went to the local water park, Wetlands, for a day of fun in the water. Lucky for us, Palmer, Logan, and Sarah were able to join us. Brody and Palmer are only 3 months apart, so they have a big time together usually!

Our afternoon was cut a little short by an afternoon thunderstorm. This was totally OK, though. By this time, I had two tired little boys following me around and Sarah was toting one hot Logan.

- Brayden is still afraid of roller coasters.
- Brody loves the water.
- Brayden is growing up, right before my very eyes, into a person who is learning to be responsible, but still very much in need of his Mom.
- Brody too, is growing up much faster than I want. He is the most curious little person. He is also a very friendly child. Ask him...he wants to tell you his story. :-)
- They are still both my sweet boys, who sometimes fight like brothers do, but love each other very much.
- They are still, after 8 years of being a Mom, the most precious things in my life.
