On July 11, Scott and I ran the Crazy 8's race. It is a fast 8K in Kingsport. This is our 3rd or 4th time running this one. It is at 9:58pm and runs through paper bag luminary lined neighborhood streets. There is always a lot of crowd support for this race and it is almost completely fast, so it is one of our favorites. It is in July, so it is always hot, but no race has everything, right? :)
Before:
After, showing off our medals. :)
We are currently training to run the Richmond marathon in November. We've been following the training plan from our Nike Plus app for this race. I was sidelined with a busted back at the beginning of July, so I missed about a weeks worth of runs, but I'm back at it now. It has been a different experience this time - we've trained together for better than 75% of our runs. We have done long runs in blazing heat and short runs that felt like we were done as soon as we got started. It is nice to have someone with you every step of the way...literally. :) Even when we are not running together, we are encouraging each other. One of my recent runs found me snapping selfies and sending them to Scott when I conqured the big hill...and then when I finished the run. :)
My visor...New to this running season and it is one of my favorite things. Around my neck - those are my cordless headphones and they rock too. I've also purchased some new matchy-matchy running clothes. My new motto: I'm not going to win, so I should at least look cute.
The run adventures continue. My marathon training hashtags look like this: #sologirl #powerof2 and #richmond2015.
