Carla's Birthday

September 2nd rolled around again this year!  With all the drama starting a new job while working another job at the same time my kids started a new school year and coaching the soccer team, it seemed like my birthday snuck up on me.  :)

Scott and my Mom didn't forget though!  They planned a fun surprise party for me!  I had to work on my birthday.  The boys had dentist appointments, so my Mom agreed to take them.  This meant checking them out of school.  (Side note:  Dentist appointments at 10:30am stink.  They really take the whole school day.)  The kids stayed with my mom for the rest of the day, so I stayed late at school to try to get ahead...or caught up...or organized.  Haha!  I went to my Mom's to get the boys.  She told me Scott said to just wait on him there.

Next thing I knew, Keith and Sarah arrived with the kids.  Scott followed with Greg's pizza and spaghetti for dinner.  It was a nice surprise.

Of course, there was cookie cake.

It is possible I have a reputation and a problem.  Cookie cakes are just soooo good, though!
Nan and the kids picked out the cookie on the left - it has a soccer ball and says "Twisters" in the middle.  That is our soccer team and we are having so much fun with them!  The one with the balloons was picked out by Scott.  Yes, we ate them both.  :)

I opened presents from my boys, my parents, and my brother's family.  I was spoiled, as always.

Because I was at school, I didn't have a chance to check facebook until almost 5pm.  I was blown away with the number of people who took time to wish me a happy birthday.  The sweet messages coupled with my sweet family made for one super sweet day.

I really wanted to do a family picture and since we were all there, we made it happen.  I just love this picture and all the personalities that go with it.

And then there is this picture that I absolutely adore.  It is such a beautiful picture of us.  It almost brings me to tears when I look at it.  It is like being on the outside looking in and seeing how wonderfully blessed I am.  These three people are my world.  There are no words to adequately express how much I love them.

It was a wonderful birthday with my most favorite people.  Thank you to Scott, my boys, my parents, Keith and Sarah, and my niece and nephews for making my day so special.
