New job!

At the beginning of August, I saw a job posting for a Health Science Teacher at one of the local high schools.  The deadline to apply was August 10.  I hand delivered my application on August 6th to the central office.  On August 11, I was called to interview for the job.  My interview was August 14 at 11a.  At 3:15p, I was offered the job as a Health Science Teacher at Happy Valley High School.  I officially started on August 24, although I spent the week of the 17th trying to figure out what I was supposed to do!  My first week, I taught at Happy Valley during the day and at MSHA in the evenings.  I was utterly exhausted by the end of that first week.  I am now at the end of my third week, and I am considerably more comfortable.  I am still learning, for sure, but I think I am doing ok.

I've had two evaluations - one during my second week and one this week.

My classroom still has barren bulletin boards and what not, but my main concern right now is the instruction.  I'm holding out for fall break, so I can have a few days without students to work on my room!  :)

I'm not going to lie - I am most looking forward to the breaks!  It will be so nice to have the holidays off with my family.  And can we just talk about being off work all summer long for just a minute?  I'm pretty excited about that part.

It all happened so fast.  Some days I think I must have lost my mind.  Some days I think this is an alright gig.  :)  There is a lot to learn and a lot of growing to do still.  I am thankful for a supportive husband and family.  They are at least as excited as I am.  :)

Here's to a new journey!
