So I'm going to have to do this in two parts, but I wanted to get some of the vacation stuff posted. I have my film in to be developed, and when I pick it up tomorrow, I intend to post a link to view all of our vacation photos (for those who care to see all of them.) On to the show...
Our first stop on our vacation was the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. This was a lot of fun. It was so crowded - if you go, go on weekday. I think Brayden enjoyed it. We got to watch the sea lions being fed....and in order to get food, they had to do tricks. Brayden liked that part. We also saw the 3-D movie presentation. This was pretty neat and incredibly funny. It was Brayden's first ever 3-D movie, so when the fish swam out toward him, he reached forward and tried to grab it. If you can imagine it, you are laughing out loud right now. :-) You'll have to use your imagination for this one because I realized after arriving at the aquarium that the camera was in the car.
After the aquarium, we drove on to the beach. We battled a little boy that felt car sick...or so he said, We are still trying to decide if he was faking it. We finally arrived in Panama City around 10:30 pm. The "sick child" perked up quite nicely when we arrived, so we took a little peek at the beach. (Mostly because Mom and Dad were excited, I think.) Saturday was an exhausting day with all the travel, but Brayden woke bright and early on Sunday begging to go out on the beach. I think he was asking to go play in the sand before his feet touched the floor. (Mom and Dad weren't near as excited....dragging ourselves out of bed doesn't even begin to describe it.)
We spent the week lounging on the beach, eating awesome seafood, playing putt-putt at night, and just spending time together as a family. We had a wonderful vacation. I can't believe we didn't do this sooner.
We left the beach Saturday morning and drove to Atlanta for a Braves game. This was Brayden's first ever major league baseball game. I think he liked it. We came home with a foam finger....we got to sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game"...and we spend over $20 buying Cokes, but it was worth it. We spend the night in Atlanta before driving home Sunday morning.
That's the skinny on our first ever family vacation. Stay tuned for more pics. :-)
