Tooth time

I can hardly believe I am reporting this, but (drumroll please), Brody has cut his first tooth! Like any good child of mine, he has not done this in the traditional manner of lower-tooth-first. Nope. His is on top....and in the front, thankfully. :-) It might be an old wives tale, but I've heard it is not good for babies to get their back teeth first. (I don't know what the story says will happen if babies get their back teeth first. Maybe Nan knows. I just remember it isn't good.) SO....I have been dealing with an incredibly fussy, biting, mad baby. I am terribly sleep deprived, and therefore quite a joy to be around. (You can ask Scott about this one.)

I am hereby opening the floor to suggestions regarding the following topics:
  • teething babies (already tried Orajel and Tylenol....I swear I'm gonna dip into Scott's Nyquil stash - kidding.)
  • getting babies to sleep past 4 AM (this makes Nyquil multi-purpose, the idea sounds better and better)
  • getting babies to take a nap that lasts longer than 30 minutes (car ride suggestions not allowed - last time I checked, you needed to be awake to drive which defeats the purpose)
  • any/all advice for sleep deprived Mommies that are struggling to hold it together
  • I am also taking advice from other breastfeeding Mom's out there who have fed a child with teeth.

Brayden didn't sprout his first tooth until he was a year old and had already been weaned. Brody is biting with the little tooth I have decided to refer to as the razor in his mouth. Might be time to find the child some other means....

All of my kids got their first teeth right at 6 months, but thankfully none of them have been biters. Isaiah is working on getting #3 and 4 out, so we're dealing with fussiness, too. I wish I had some advice to give. All I can say is that I can relate! I'm starting to feel like I'm sleepwalking through my day!

Just remember-Aunt Carrie lives just a few houses down from you. I would love to babysit while you take a long nap! Maybe he should spend a night at our house so the Orsburns can have a good nights sleep.
