I've created a monster.
I decided Brayden might be more successful in his day if we took a morning jog to run off some of his energy. Yesterday, he woke up early (as in 5:30 AM, but I was already up - Thank you, Brody.) We spent some time snuggling, then I asked if he wanted to go for a run. To my surprise, he was all for it. SO....we changed into running clothes...and out the door we went. We ran 1/2 mile at 6 AM. I was so proud - he never complained, never stopped, never walked. He is so awesome! While we were running, he told me, "Mom, I love this weather: the sun is shining and the birds are singing." Um....ok.....this is a new Brayden, but I like it.
At least I thought I did.
He started asking as soon as he got in the car after school yesterday, "Can we go for a jog?" I explained we couldn't because it was raining and Brody couldn't jog in the rain. Brayden was not deterred. He kept watching the weather and asking. So I bargained - "Fold these towels and we'll go for a jog when Daddy gets home." Little stinker folded every single towel ~AND~ put them away. So Dad arrived home, and Brayden and I took out again for another 1/2 mile run.
I don't have to tell you how great he did....you already know.
This morning, in the wee hours, Brayden yelled for me. I went into his room (still in a very sleepy confused sort-of state) and he started telling me he had a bad dream. He wanted me to lay in bed with him, which I did in the interest of sleep-preservation. After I snuggled in, he asked, "Mom, will you take me for a jog when we get up?" Sure, Brayden. 6:30 AM - Mom and Brayden take out for 1/2 mile run number three. Today, he told me he loves to exercise...and "Most Americans do not like to exercise." I promise I am not making this up.
He has already asked if we can go for a jog after school. I've created a monster. In the mean time, I am nursing my sore muscles and keeping the fact I have sore muscles top-secret. I am also trying to find a reason to get the child his own ipod, so I can have mine during our morning weather-admiring-exercise-loving jogs.

Oh my goodness....that is hilarious! I love it! Good for you (& Brayden)! He's right...most American's don't exercise (where in the WORLD did he learn that?). Get 'em started young on the good stuff. Now go put some more ice on them sore muscles, grinning.
