My name is Carla and I am an addict.
I am a cookbook addict.
I can hear you guys laughing at me. I am serious. I love cookbooks. This has been a growing trend in my house, however the last 24 hours have been particularly bad. **Brace yourself** In the last 24 hours, I have purchased 34 cookbooks on ebay. (Yes, that says thirty-four.) OK, I'm not sure which is more addictive for me....the cookbooks or ebay. There's something fascinating and invigorating about clicking 'refresh' 100 times in the final 2 minutes of bidding only to discover you've won!
Yes, I have a problem. But let me explain...
I decided it would be far cooler to own some vintage cookbooks....I mean, I already have Rachel Ray, Mr. Food, Betty Crocker, and of course, Pampered Chef. Those are just a few of them. So over the course of the last 24 hours, I have become an ebay junkie and found some super buys...I paid less than $10 for each auction I won. I won some great auctions too: Cookbooks from 1934, 1939, 1929, 1949. I am the most excited, though, about the cookbook called Recipes from the Old South. I'm not sure of the date on it, but judging from the pictures, it was copy written prior to 1950. I also found some great Betty Crocker cookbooks that are from 1950 and 1955.
So bring on the vintage cookbooks.
And, Scott, consider this my asking for forgiveness. :-)
This would be good time to mention Scott's awesome progress on the Jeep. Did I mention it started? Isn't that grand?

THIRTY FOUR!?!?! As in 34. As in three, followed by a four. Wow. I would say you're an addict. BUT I think you will be forgiven if you put some amazing dishes on the table, so start cooking IMMEDIATELY ;). And to be quite honest...I'm a teensy-weensy bit envious. I love cookbooks too :). So...the other reason you will be forgiven is that you will email me any amazingly fantastic recipe(s) that you use. Got it? Okay, we're done here. ;).
