I must apologize in advance for telling ya'll this story...but it was too cute not to share.
Friday afternoon, I announced to the boys, "Can you guys be on your best behavior while Mommy goes in the bathroom for a few minutes?" All activities that do not involve direct supervision require me to remind my children to be on their best behavior. I use the term "Best behavior" very loosely. By asking them to be on their 'best behavior' I was more implying, please don't burn down the house, cut each others hair, or runaway in the next 3 minutes.
Brody saw this as an opportunity to join me. "Mommy go bathroom?" Yes, and apparently I am taking my shadow with me. :-)
I feel so sorry for those of you that must use the potty alone. It must be a dreadfully boring and quiet place. My deepest condolences. Really.
Anyway, Brayden's kandoos (flushable wipes) were in the bathroom. Brody thought I needed one. I thanked him. What a thoughtful little guy.
When I stood up and flushed, Brody decided I needed instruction. "Mommy wash hands." I looked at him like he had three heads...not because I wasn't going to wash my hands, but what TWO YEAR OLD tells you to wash your hands? I dutifully washed, and when I turned to dry my hands, Brody was standing behind me holding up a hand towel.
Isn't he the smartest two year old ever? I just can't get enough of him. :-)

Maybe he was looking for a tip. I wish I had my own bathroom attendant. :)
What a gentleman! That should tell you, you have done something right :)
I had not read your blog in a while and I must say I read this one and laughed so hard I cryed. I miss you all.
Indeed...you realize that as a parent...you never do anything alone. I mean truly alone...down to even using the bathroom. On the other hand...totally agree with you that there can be fun in everything ;). The other day I had Ian in the bathroom with me, and he was curious. I peed and got up to wipe and Ian comes alongside the toilet bowl and stares down into it and looks up at me for an explanation. I guess the upside is, I wasn't phased. I mean...that IS the positive, right? ;)
