Funny Brayden

My Brayden has been a funny guy over this weekend. I thought I would share some of our adventures.

It all started Saturday afternoon at Kroger. Kroger was a madhouse because A) it was Saturday afternoon, and B) the trusty weatherman was calling for snow. Brayden and I had successfully navigated our way through the store and were unloading our groceries onto the checkout belt-thingy. As Brayden is unloading his buggy, I began to dig through my purse for my Kroger Plus card. This is the precise moment I realize...I don't have my wallet. I immediately feel like I am going to be sick. "Oh, Brayden! I don't have my wallet." The checkout girl tells me it's okay, happens all the time, and she can check us out, suspend the transaction, and I can return with my wallet to pay for our purchases. I have to mention that I called Scott somewhere in the middle of this, as if he was going to be able to save me. Unfortunately, I had left in the car with the only carseat we own for Brody....and Brody was not with me, so Scott couldn't rescue me. Anyway, Brayden and I left Kroger groceryless and returned home to get my wallet. On our way back to the store, we had the following conversation:

Mom: "I can't believe I did forgot my wallet at home. I swear, Brayden, I thought I was going to be sick when I realized I didn't have it."
Brayden: "Mom, when you said that, I felt really sorry for you."

Thanks, Buddy.

Moving on to Sunday. Brayden and I were out together again. We went to Mamaw's for lunch. On our way home, Brayden starts telling me some story, which I quickly decided was one of his creative-storytelling exercises (meaning: he was making up every word of it). My mind wandered (bad Mommy, I know), but I was quickly brought back with this sentence...

"I know it happened, Mom. Michael's grandfather told him about it and he was alive a really long time ago....like 1980."

Did I mention I adore how very very young my children make me feel? Humph. I guess not so much, huh?

In other, totally unrelated news, Brody had his first ever real haircut on Saturday. Scott and I took him to the Smart Style salon to get his beautiful curls cut off. I told Scott while we were there, I hoped he got a good look at Brody before we went in because he went in a baby, but was coming out a big boy. He looks adorable, of course, but I miss his long hair. I don't miss the half-hour it took to get it dry, though. School pictures on Tuesday, so we had to do something with it. I haven't snapped any pictures of it, but as soon as I do, I'll post one for all to see.

And I'd like to send a shout out to my blogger buddies, Kathryn and Natascha, who have been together with all the kids since sometime on Friday and have yet to post a single picture. Clearly disappointed here, girls. Can we remedy this situation ASAP. Thanks so much. :-)

Go to my blog, my friend, and you will learn of my tragic news. The camera is dead. Like really dead. No hope of revival. I'm relying on Natascha's pictures. She's flying back today so I'll give her until tomorrow before I start stalking her...I mean kindly reminding her that we need some pics. :)

And...I learned that she has a trip to JC in the works which means a Ledford-Orsburn get-together that doesn't involve me. Jealous. I guess that means I need to get my booty (yes, I just said booty) working on a little trip. :)

Oh, and I need pics of big boy Brody! I can't believe the curls are gone!!
