It's been a while

It has been a good long time since I visited the ol' blog.  Life happens, I guess.  So today, because I am procrastinating doing all sorts of other things I should be doing, I find myself here.

So what is going on with the Orsburns?

Gosh.

Brayden is officially in middle school - as in junior high.  Seventh grade.  He went to his first school dance last Friday and I found myself in the parking lot wondering how we got here.  He is growing up so fast these days.  I'm not going to lie, though.  Being the parent of a tween is difficult....tumultuous.  We have days of extreme maturity and then we have days of complete immaturity.  I shouldn't even say we have days.  What we have are moments.  :)
Brayden is currently in fall baseball season.  The blog completely missed spring baseball.  Sorry.  :(  Fall baseball games start on Monday and I think the schedule is pretty intense.

Brody is now in second grade.  He has the same teacher Brayden had in second grade, and I am pretty happy about that.  Brody is not playing fall baseball.  He also chose not to play football this year.  He has decided on soccer.  His first practice was rained out, so I guess we will hit the soccer field for the first time on Saturday morning.

Scott.  In February, he bought a Harley Davidson so when he is not working, he likes to ride his bike.  He is also working to get our basement ready to remodel.  It has been a lot of work to simply clean up the mess, but he's persistent.  :)

I am, yet again, returning to school.   This might be the final time.  I am attending Lincoln Memorial University in the Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner program.  It is an intense program (hence the procrastinating statement I made earlier).  I hope to graduate in December 2015.  When I say that out loud, it seems like it will be here in no time.  Sadly, I am having to change jobs to return to school.  I *love* my current job, but I cannot keep it because I have class every Monday from 8:30a-7p.  So I'm in the hunt for a new job, which is proving to be more difficult than one might imagine.

Scott and I are training for the Marine Corps Marathon.  I regularly compose blog posts in my head while we are running.  Maybe one day those posts will make it to the actual blog.  I love that we've done this together so far - we've logged a lot of miles and a lot of time and almost 100% of our training has been together.  We are planning to run in DC at the end of October.  School will require our travel to be a little sketchy, but I am committed to doing both, so we will have to do what we have to do.  :)

Last but not least, the family!  This was taken almost a year ago by my sweet friend, Tara Hodges.
