This was our first family ski trip since 2013! Scott and Brayden found their way to the mountain last winter, but Brody and I hadn't been in almost 2 years. We arrived in time to ski the 1p-10p session. We took our usual pre-ski-selfie:
I really don't know if I should call this a ski trip. The boys snowboarded, as is the norm with them. This time, we had the added adventure of Mom trying snowboarding for the first time. I am clearly too old to learn new tricks...I finally gave up (around 7pm) and got my skis. I told Scott not to bring them, but he was smarter than me. I was so thankful to be back on skis. This Mommy will not be snowboarding again. Ever.
Brayden was, as usual, amazing on the slopes. He spent most of the day begging to go to the top of the mountain. He and Scott did make it to the top a few times.
Brody was a little more cautious. He preferred to stay on the green slope with his Momma. By the time we left, he was pretty confident on the green slope and was even doing tricks on his board.
While we were eating lunch, a generous man came over to our table with some extra tubing tickets he wasn't going to use. He gave them to us, and off we went to the tubing area. This was extra exciting because it was the first tubing experience for all 4 of us.
It is almost impossible to take pictures of tubing. It goes super fast, but it is a blast! We were worried about Brody - he does not like roller coasters or waterslides (picture him screaming in terror). He took off down the slide on his tube and was all giggles. He loved it. It was a lot of fun, but we were pretty much done with it after an hour. Thank goodness we didn't pay for it, since we only did it for an hour. :)
There are no actual pictures of Scott or I in action on the slopes. If there had been pictures of me, I would have been on my butt for sure. (That is, until I got my skis.) Because it is one of my favorite things to do, I did take more selfies:
We left the slopes around 9pm, after snowboarding/skiing for 8 hours (minus lunch). Brayden and I both spent Saturday with sore muscles. ;) Family time is my favorite!
