I can't believe I waited until the last day of January to get my January blogging in! Here we go!
I guess I should start with the Christmas festivities from December 2015 since that is where I left off. One would think as a teacher with two weeks off at Christmas that I could have gotten some blogging in. Time management is really not my thing.
It is stuff like this that keeps me from blogging...
A couple of days before Christmas, I loaded up the boys and we met Keith
and his kids (plus a couple of extras) at Just Jump to spend the
afternoon jumping on trampolines.
It was so. much. fun! I love going to the trampoline place. Keith and I jumped with the kids. We also played trampoline dodgeball and climbed around in the foam pit. It was a great day. The kids had a great time...the big kids and the little ones. :)
We went to Gary and Debbie's on December 19th to meet up with the Singleton family and celebrate Christmas with the Orsburns. It was a cold day, but the sun was shining. While there was no pool time this trip, we still found our way outside with the soccer ball.
Avery and Debbie made some sort of gum drop ball. I'm not sure if they ever finished it. It was quite festive. :)
We also had presents with family. I was the most excited about Avery's gift. She is such an awesome girl. She loves girly things like purses and pretty fingernails, she also loves her sports (soccer) and she loves animals. She has an awesome personality that is the perfect mix of funny, sweet, and smart. She is a blessing. :)
Anyway, during our shopping adventures, Scott asked Carrie for gift ideas for the kids. She mentioned that Avery has her own sewing machine. We decided to get her some fabric and pattern so she could sew. It helps that I sew a little bit, so I knew what I was looking for. I asked for her favorite colors and Carrie said light blue and purple. Voila! I was so excited about her gift, I took a picture before I wrapped it! Haha!
I am not sure she knew what to think when she opened it. Luckily, Carrie sent me a text and I got to see the finished product. :)
I'm way off subject. My picture collection from Christmas at Gary and Debbie's is limited. I think we took most of the picture with the Canon and those didn't make it to my device. :) I will have to see if I can find them to share.
Fast forward to Christmas Eve. As usual, we took a family picture. I will find our family Christmas Eve picture and add it here. :) Brody was so proud of himself and his outfit. Both of my boys looked so handsome.
We attended Wesley for Christmas Eve Service. This year was the most special to me. Keith and Sarah and the kids joined us at Wesley. <3 10="" a="" about="" almost="" an="" and="" arms="" baby="" but="" can="" church="" didn="" entire="" find="" forgotten="" go="" guess="" had="" hadley="" halfway="" her="" i="" in="" it="" jesus.="" like="" little="" love="" nbsp="" of="" one="" ones.="" pew.="" pew="" picture="" proclaimed="" raised="" service="" so="" stood="" t.="" t="" taken="" the="" there="" thought="" through="" to="" took="" up="" us="" was="" we="" were="" what="" with="">so3>
cute. I am so thankful for my family.
After church, we went to Mamaw's, as is tradition. I only took one picture. It is Brody and Palmer sitting on Mamaw's bed. It brought back memories of my cousins and I when we were young waiting "patiently" for the presents.
One of these years, I am going to learn to wrap presents before Christmas eve. :( This year was not that year. After Mamaw's, we returned home for the traditional opening of the Christmas jammies. The kids headed off to bed and I wrapped. Many hours later, Scott and I made it to bed.
The boys both got new bikes, among other things. Brayden's bike (the orange one on the left) looks so big! It is hard to believe I have a child big enough for that bike! Bikes ended up being a great choice, since it was almost 70 degrees on Christmas day!
Scott made me the most awesome present ever. He put together a scrapbook that included everything we did in 2015! It had lift tickets, race bibs, pictures, maps, brochures...I cried the happy-shocked-amazed cry the entire time I was looking through it. I almost can't even talk about it without getting a little choked up. He is so incredible. I am one blessed girl. :)
Christmas night found us at my parent's house, as usual, celebrating Christmas and Keith's birthday with a meal in between to clearly define what occasion we were celebrating. :) Opening presents was a flurry of wrapping paper, thank-yous, ohs and ahs, oh-my-goshes, smiles, and happy tears. It was an awesome evening at Nan and Pap's. <3 p="">
Keith, the photographer that usually has the camera with the big lens and big flash, got a selfie stick. It was for sure a hit. He took some really fun pictures with it.
Aren't those fun?!? I love them. iPhone pics are sometimes the best. <3 p="">
I think that puts Christmas 2015 in the books. :) We are blessed with awesome friends, awesome family, and each other.
