Sorry for the serious slacking on posts recently. I can think of a hundred excuses....as always. The important thing - I'm here now with the update. :-)
We headed off to JC for Thanksgiving this year. We haven't been to Johnson City since August....and boy, was Brayden excited to go to Nan's house. He was so excited, he packed his own bag. He also helped load up the car.
We had yummy Thanksgiving dinner at Mamaw's house with the rest of the huge Williams clan. It was nice to see everyone. Brayden had a great time playing with some of the cousins. Brody was a big fan of Uncle C....he also made friends with the cousin closest to his age, Tabitha. She is 14 months old. It was interesting to watch how curious they were about each other. Brody also got to sample some of the Thanksgiving cuisine. Brayden preferred the ham and rolls. This is mostly because Uncle Keithy convinced him it was like a sandwich. Brayden loves sandwiches.
Thanksgiving night we went bowling with Keithy, Adam, and Lacee. Brayden is so adorable when he bowls. We had a lot of fun. We played three games, and I think Brayden won two of them. I know he beat me.
Black Friday -- Mom, Keithy, and I got up at 3:30 AM and went shopping. I know....you're thinking we are crazy. Mom and I went for the first time last year. We weren't very organized the first time around. This year was different. I carefully studied the ads on Thursday...marked the ads with post-its and markers...made a list on an index card of store opening times...and off we went. It was CRAZY FUN! I can hardly wait for next year. :-) We hit Kohls, Toys R Us, Dicks Sports, Target, and JC Penny all before breakfast! The lines were unbelievably long just to get in to Kohls, Target, and Toys R Us. I think that is half the fun. I LOVE that Mom and I have that tradition now. This year Keithy joined us...maybe next year we can recruit Scott too! :-)
After and early start on Friday, we loaded up and headed to Gatlinburg to see Grandma and Bo-Bo. Friday evening was very low key - dinner, bath time for the boys, a movie, and bed. I was so glad, because I was one sleepy girl! Saturday we went to Ober Gatlinburg. We rode the tram up. Scott was a nervous wreck. Thankfully, he survived the trip up and back. :-) On the way back, the gentleman standing next to him asked if he wanted to look out the window. Scott instantly turned green, "No thanks", he said. Brayden and I had a super time at Ober. We rode the chair lift, came down the mountain on the Alpine slide, and went ice skating. I love to ice skate. For obvious reasons, I don't get to very often. Brayden was a little scared, and wanted to hold both of my hands. I ended up doing a lot of the work. :-) It was still a lot of fun.
We arrived back home on Sunday...exhausted. Scott stayed home with the boys to get them in bed at a reasonable time and I went to bowling. I mention this only because I bowled my all time highest score - 165! Our team has slipped into third place. Oh well. Maybe this week will be our comeback week. :-)
I purchased a new camera on Black Friday (and I am very excited about it). I have a few pictures to share, but haven't loaded the software on my computer yet. As soon as we're up and running, I'll get the pictures up.
