New year, new things

Happy 2013!  With the new year, I am making the resolution to pick back up on the blog.  I recently went looking for an old picture and knew I could find it on the blog.  This resulted in reading old posts and taking a walk down memory lane.  I am truly sad I somehow let blogging slip - we will have some undocumented time in there.  Now, I am starting anew.  :)

2013 has started off with a bang for the Orsburn house!  I would like to introduce our newest family member, my little lady....Miss Maisy!  She is a yorkie poo.  She was born on November 12, 2012 so she is almost two months old.  She is the sweetest little thing ever.  We got her from a breeder in Middle Tennessee.  We looked at her the weekend after Christmas when we were in Nashville visiting family.  She wasn't quite ready to leave her momma, so we drove back the following weekend to bring her home.  I spent the week in between shopping (and sewing) for her.

I found some cute stuff, but it is hard to find things in XXS and she is definitely an extra, extra small.  Below is her sweet little homecoming sweater.  Pink!  We've never had pink stuff in this house before.
I also made her a fleece no-sew blanket (above) and a doggie-sling (below).  She loves the blanket because she can chew on the fringe on the side.  We've used the bag a few times.  She is so tiny, the bag is a little big for her still.  She doesn't mind being in it at all; she just wants to be able to see out!
As you can see, I am very taken with Miss Maisy!  Honestly, it has been kind of like bringing home  a newborn.  Our first night home was rough - she cried and I put her in the bed with Scott and I....then I didn't really sleep because I was afraid of squishing her.  We are figuring it out though.  We shall move out of the newborn phase soon enough.  :)

Switching gears, last night, I took the boys to get haircuts.  Brayden decided he wanted to cut off (and I mean CUT. OFF.) his long blond locks.  See for yourself.

Oh, wow!  He doesn't even look like the same child.  He looks so much older and more mature with his new haircut.  I didn't realize it would be so hard to see on the blog.  For some reason, the picture has re-sized itself?  (I'm seriously out of practice on the blogging thing!  Sheesh.)  Anywho, I am totally in love with his new haircut.  I wish I could have gone to school with him today to see what his friends thought.  It would have been pretty awkward for him though, so I opted to stay home.

I think that wraps up today's exciting post.  Lots of news to share....but before I can do any more, I'm going to have to organized the 200 pictures I uploaded from my phone earlier today.  :)  I can't find anything!
