Holden Beach 2008

The Orsburn family returned home from our awesomely wonderfully relaxing vacation on Sunday. It was hard to say goodbye to the sand, the sun, and especially to all the wonderful people we vacationed with! I think we are all glad to be home though, where we can rest our little heads in our own beds! (Note to self: see about moving my bed to a beachfront house....possibly for the entire summer.)

I simply cannot put into words how great our vacation was. We were 4 of 16 people in our beach house. (12 adults and 4 kids....Gavin, Bridon, Brayden, and Brody - yes, can you believe three of them had names so close?) I must admit, I was a little skeptical about vacationing with so many people, but it was marvelous. Simply marvelous. I'll run down a typical day at the beach for ya:

  • Morning: Beach

  • Mid day: Big boys on the beach, Brody napping, Mom reading guiltless chick lit on the back deck watching big boys play on the beach.

  • Afternoon: Beach - walks - shopping(!)

  • Evening: Dining out on seafood (which always tastes better at the beach), playing with the kids, riding go carts, playing miniature golf, shopping

  • Late Evening: Kids are in bed and the BIG kids (meaning adults) laughed the night away mostly on the back deck.

Are ya'll jealous? Even I am jealous, and I was there. OH, how I want to go back. I am thinking it is about time to implement a beginning of summer AND and end of summer vacation. I don't think two vacations a year are too much to ask. (grinning.)

We had some professional photos taken again this year. It was really nice, because we got to have a family portrait made with Keithy and Becca. Plus, we got an absolutly to-die-for-adorable picture of Brody. The first time I viewed the CD of photos, I was totally not expecting to see it and when I appeared on the screen, I got chill bumps. I've included some of those pictures here.

Many thanks to Keith & Becca, Adam & Lacee, Cecil & Brenda, Sharon, Stella, Nate, Martha, Gavin, & Bridon for making our vacation one of our best. We simply cannot wait until next summer.

Here are some of the professional photos:

Yes, I am very jealous! :) The pictures are great! I tried to see the slideshow, but couldn't get it to come up. I'll try again later. I'm sure they are great, too!
