Lazy Days...

Brayden has gone to Grammy's to spend a few days. Brayden's absence has left Brody and I wondering what on earth to do, since our main source of entertainment has gone on a mini-vacation.

Yesterday, we played...and played...and played. We also made our television debut! Channel 4 news was in the neighborhood doing a story on foreclosures and the deciling value of exsiting homes. They wanted to interview me (!), so I agreed. I'm not entirely sure my opinion on the matter is entirely valuable, but they used the footage for their lead story at 6 pm! Brody made it to TV too...playing with the soccer ball in the yard. If you want to see it, go to http://www.wsmv.com/news/16578164/detail.html. You can click on the video link from there. Pretty neat, even if it is a little boring. :-) Brayden called almost immediately after the story aired, "Mom, guess who I just saw on the weather?" he practically screamed into the phone. "Who?" "YOU!" He was so excited.

I think Brody is missing his big brother, because he kept going to Brayden's room to look for him. By last night, though, Brody was clearly confortable with being the center of Mom and Dad's UNdivided attention. He was a wild child, running about, squealing, playing.

Today, Brody and I cleaned out and reorganized the kitchen cabinets. (I mean, we are real party animals when the big boys are away, aren't we?) When we were finished, I decided we needed to get out of the house for a little bit, so I opted for a walk. We didn't walk very far before we were both a sweaty mess and Brody was standing in front of me with arms outstretched in the carry-me-Mommy position. I carried Brody back to the house and thought I might die of heat stroke by the time we got here. Yes, the heat is back. Yay, rah. Note to self: if the weather forecast is for greater than 90 degrees, it is probably best not to choose 'walk' as daily outdoor activity. Oh well, I got some cute pictures. Brody is my little adventurer. Not so much for staying on the paved trail. There are far more interesting things to find if you venture onto the path less traveled.

"Where's Brody?" Just checking things out in the weeds that are taller than me!
I was trying very hard to put out of my mind all the disgusting things that could be in those weeds....snakes, ticks, poison ivy....

Mom, Check out this spot of dirt!

He finally found a tree branch he could actually reach!

pics are great. Looks like mom and Brody are doing just fine with the big boys away. Great job on the tv interview too. That really sucks, but if you stay there long enough the property value will come back as the banks sell the homes and they are finished.
later.

Re: the video on the news, I believe that's the first time I've ever seen you "live", Carla :). Nice to meet you, grinning.
