$4.28

$4.28....four dollars and twenty-eight cents.

That's how much I've made doing laundry in this house over the last three years.

I've gotta teach these boys to start leaving the big bucks in their pockets. :-)

I've been packing the house....obviously. This little tale is from packing up the laundry room. I had a jar in the cabinet where I dropped all the change that I found in the bottom of the washer. I guess I won't be sending the kids to college on the 'laundry room fund.' Actually, I won't even be indulging them in some McDonalds. Oh well.

This week has been crazy. Lots of packing and cleaning. We've met with a realtor, which meant more cleaning. I also showed the house today to a couple who called on the for sale by owner sign in the yard....more cleaning. Right now, it feels like my life is a series of making messes and promptly cleaning them up only to make a mess all over again.

In other news...

Yesterday, I toted both the boys to the pediatrician. I think the people at the pediatrician's office were trying to kill me - or at least send me in bee-line fashion toward the nearest bar. (Just kidding, Mom.) Having both of the kids at the pediatrician is stressful enough, but yesterday we didn't get that simple "You're kids look good." Nope, the doctor thinks Brayden has psoriasis on his FACE. This was terribly upsetting to me. So for that we need to follow up with a dermatologist. Then it was Brody's turn. What? He's not saying 15 words? No, in fact, he isn't. He doesn't have to speak because he has Brayden to speak for him. The pediatrician didn't see it that way - I had to fill out an autism screening questionnaire and he wanted to do a hearing test on Brody. Yea, right....like Brody was going to let that big scary nurse put those things in his ears to check his hearing. Even though he was screaming, she kept trying. I can only imagine Brody was wondering about her hearing because he was clearly saying "I do not want to do this." Not to worry, we passed the autism screening test with flying colors. I think the doctor was maybe a little embarrassed after he saw the answers. Finally, both of the boys had to have shots. I will save you my baby/kid shot speech. I will mention that it took THREE people to hold Brayden down for one little shot. I think you all can understand where I am going with this.

I would imagine the computer is perilously close to being packed up for the move....so you might not hear from me for a few days. Rest assured, I will return on the other end of the move and update you with all the fun adventures that are sure to await us over the next few days.

Oh man...excitement on top of excitement. Well..the pediatrician's didn't sound that "exciting" actually. But you get my point. Oh how I wish you luck with the final packing, selling, traveling, unpacking etc. I can only assume the whole thing will be a tad...harrowing. Hope to see you on the other side in one piece!! And GOOD LUCK.
