I was going to write some sappy post about all the adorable things my children did today, but decided it might be better for my mental health if I devoted my energies to figuring out why I'M TIRED.
Today, I:
- Changed my youngest child's clothing FIVE times. And, if you're interested, red Kool-Aid will color your skin red...through your shirt.
- Bathed my youngest TWICE
- Re-assembled the end table that Brayden disassembled (without permission to do so.)
- Loaded the dishwasher
- Unloaded the dishwasher
- Reloaded the dishwasher
- Fixed two bowls of cereal, unwrapped one fruit bar, and fixed two bologna sandwiches - one with mustard only and cut in half diagonally, one without bread add ketsup
- Swept the kitchen where Brody decided his afternoon snack would be a hamburger bun (?), he didn't bother to remove it from the bag, he just bit little holes in the bag until he was satisfied, leaving a Hansel-and-Gretel-esque trail in his wake.
- Threw away the item formerly known as hamburger buns
- Retrieved the light for the fish tank from the fish tank. Apparently fish are not affected by mixing electricity and water in the same way us humans are.
- Swept the back porch where a bowl landed after being propelled out of the backdoor. The bowl shattered on impact and joined the buns in the trash.
- Attempted to make a couple of phone calls, which were inevitably interrupted with cries of any or all of the following: "MOM!", "Moommmmmmy!", "Brody, No!", "Brayden?!?", "Brody?!?"
- With some disturbing regularity, located passies, shoes, remotes, and other items of interest.
I know there are things that are being left off my list...I also got lots of hugs and kisses, about 15 minutes of 'quiet time', and the joy of listening/watching Brayden read us a book (Go, Dog, Go! by Dr. Seuss.)
I'm feeling a bit better after a little venting and realization of how blessed I am to have such wonderful times with my kids. (Yep, I've turned into a cliche....oh well, whatcha gonna do?)

I hope one day that I am at least half the mom that you are! You are such a great mommy!! :)
well lacee wishes to be half the mom that you are. I'm thinking of what that would look like. she would have only changed brody's clothes 2.5 times, only one bath for brody, she would have only gotten one load of dishes washed, one bowl of cereal, half of a fruit bar, only one of the kids would have gotten lunch, swept the buns from only half the kitchen, and made one phone call. Still not HALF bad.
