Chicago!

I returned Wednesday night from a glorious 4 day stay in Chicago. I attended the Pampered Chef National Conference. It was unbelievable! I learned a lot, met some wonderful new people, and had a great time doing a little sight seeing in Chicago. The conference kept us super busy, but we found a little time to do some socializing. I had the best. pizza. ever. If you haven't had Chicago-style pizza, you're really missing out!

The workshops I attended at the conference came at a good time in my life. We talked about fear and courage, mapping out your own life, and, of course, a little Pampered Chef thrown in for good measure. I have had an emotional time dealing with our move and all that is involved with packing up your family, so it was good to hear some talks that could apply to my every day life.

Don't even ask why all of my pictures have those annoying lines in them. Apparently my cell phone wasn't the only electronics item that didn't care much for Chicago. Good thing I didn't take any overly expensive electronics - like a laptop. :-)

We also ate at Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. It was so cute...if you've even been there you know what I'm talking about. The food was okay. The atmosphere was great. We were there at the same time they were rolling out the red carpet for the stars of the new Batman movie to show up. The premier was being held at Navy Pier. We didn't get to see anyone, we were leaving about 15 minutes before they were scheduled to arrive. It was just a tinsy bit more important to catch my plane than to see Christian Bale. (Truthfully, I don't even know who Christian Bale is...) Kinda a silly story, but I thought it was kinda neat.

So I am back now, all rejuvinated and ready to tackle packing and getting the house ready.
