Weekend update

I am falling behind in my blogging goals, so I am posting today without any real direction.

The weekend began on Friday at the indoor soccer field.  Brayden's game was intense!  They played almost 16 minutes of the first half before anyone scored.  Brayden played really well.  Scott and I were both really proud of him.  Just before the first half ended, he took a hard kicked ball to his right ankle.  He went down and never returned to the game.  His team ended up losing 2-1, but it was a really good game to watch.  Brayden hobbled around all day on Saturday.  I checked his ankle at almost 6pm and it was pretty swollen and very tender.  We decided to get him x-rayed just in case.  Turns out he does not have a fracture, but he spent all day Sunday learning the joys of an aircast and crutches.

I think he did a pretty good job of staying off of it yesterday, but he still had some swelling this morning.  He went to school today without crutches, but with his ankle wrapped.  He has baseball tryouts beginning this afternoon, so crutches would have really been an issue.

Saturday, we got the boys registered for baseball season.  It feels all weird to me to be thinking about baseball season since we've been so involved with soccer for the last several months.  I know we will be excited when it gets here.  :)

I had to work yesterday at the hospital with my CNA students.  It was a busy and exhausting day.  After work, we went to Mamaw's house for pizza.  We joined Keith and his family, C and Judy, Ron, Mamaw, Mom and Dad, and Ken and Kendra.  It was a really nice evening.  I really wanted to take some pictures, but Brody had my phone and he is quite good at running down the battery...so we have no pictures.  :)  I forgot how much fun it is to spend time with family around Mamaw's table.  Many thanks to Mom and Dad for planning the get together and cooking pizza!   Pictures next time...
