Spelling B

This morning I set out with my 2 boys on a trip to Wal-Mart and Kroger. I was not super-excited about this because usually with the 2 boys, it turns into a nightmarish version of "I want, I want, I want....No, No, No.....Stay with me.....Mom, Can I.....Stay with me....If I have to tell you again....WAAAaaaaaa....." You get my point. Shopping with my 2 boys can be trying.
There are many mothers out there who handle this gracefully. I applaude you. I am not usually one of them. With me, there is usually sweating involved, a headache before we are even close to home, and many empty promises of time-out.
But....Not Today.
I am typing with caution here, because I do not want to jinx it, but my boys were so very very good. I even checked them when we got home to make sure they were mine. Yep - still the adorable boys I left here with.
So, because Brayden was so good, and I offered to get McDonalds on our way home. He was so excited. While in line at the drive through, he even told me he wanted to be good when we went shopping again so maybe he could get another good treat! (Yay for me, my plan is working!)
We get our food, and Brayden opens up his box.
Brayden: "I got a T-O-Y."
Mom: "What did you just say?"
Brayden: "I got a T-O-Y."
Mom: thinking to herself, uh-oh, He can spell? When did he learn to spell? Regaining composure..."What does that mean, Brayden?"
Brayden: with a tone oozing with sheesh-can't you spell? "I got a toy, Mom."

Who knew? Guess Dad and I will have to be more careful spelling around Brayden. Maybe it's time to switch to igpay-atinlay. (Yes, pig latin for all of you trying to figure it out.)
