Where've you been?

OK, so I know I haven't posted in several days. It isn't for lack of trying. I just deleted my last post in progress. It has just been too busy.

The weekend included:

  • A Nashville Sounds game with Grammy - Brayden loved it, Brody hated it.

  • A trip to the Adventure Science Center - I figured since I signed Brayden up for summer camp there, we should visit first. :-)

  • Painting the living room

Brayden left on Monday to go to Grammy's house for the week. He is attending Vacation Bible School at her church. Monday afternoon was nice - Brody and I got to hang out, it was quiet. I even painted the downstairs bathroom. (Side note: My neighbor, Sherry, calls it a powder room. From now on, I am also calling it a powder room. I mean, really....I live in a house of boys. I should have some space to make girly, right?) Scott, Brody, and I went out for dinner on Monday night. We even enjoyed a quiet Tuesday morning. Brody and I went to Wal-Mart, Target, TJ Maxx, and Kroger. He is a super shopper buddy....mostly because he slept. But, by Tuesday afternoon, the quiet had gotten old. We are now officially missing Brayden. He called last night. I tried not to seem too excited; I didn't want him to think his Mom was a total dork. He's going to be gone until Saturday morning.

To pass the time while he is gone, I am on a painting mission. I started painting yesterday in the family room. Today I am going to cover up what I did yesterday. :-) Needless to say, the color wasn't working for me. Oh well.....we'll just try another.

Today's pictures are of Brody having breakfast this morning. We've moved on to more flavorful foods than rice cereal. He's had carrots (loves 'em) and sweet potatoes (loves 'em). We've also moved on to baby oatmeal (hates it). He gobbles up his carrots and sweet potatoes. His cereals are a different story. This morning, he started a new trick. I put a bite in his mouth, he grabbed his bib and pulled it up over his mouth as if swallowing was secret. He dropped the bib back down and gave me a big grin as if to say "Look Mom, I did it!" Only the entire bite of oatmeal was on his bib. He's a pretty smart cat. He has also decided eating is a lot more fun if you can put your feet on the table. :-)
