Misty-eyed-Mommy-moment: We had to fill out a Student of the week questionnaire. It had questions about Brayden, his family, what he wants to be when he grows up, etc, etc. We went down the list yesterday. I read the questions to Brayden, he supplied the answers:
Mom: "Name?"
Brayden: "Brayden Lee Orsburn."
Mom: "Birthday?"
Brayden: "May 18."
Mom: "What do you like to do?"
Brayden: "go to Grammy's, ride my bike, play vintendo (Nintendo), play baseball, play with my brother."
What? Play with my brother? I LOVE how much my boys love each other. Finally they really are able to 'play' together....if by together you mean alongside each other with an occasional head-but from Brody. :-)
Here, the boys are playing Legos. Brody has taken quite an interest in the Legos. I am certain it has to do with the volume of the little pieces clanking together and the loud noise they make when they hit the box. Or better yet, the loud noise they make when the entire box is dumped on the hardwood floor! :-)
Brody has also started some new things. First, and probably cutest, he has started dancing! It is adorable. When Brayden started dancing, he kinda did an up-and-down-bobbing. Brody has opted for the front-to-back-swaying motion. It took a couple of times for me to figure out what he was doing. Sure enough, whenever the child hears music, he starts swaying. :-)Second, he has started standing on his own. This is HUGE. This spells t-r-o-u-b-l-e....because standing on his own means walking on his own is right around the corner. How can this be happening? He is still a baby...he was just born, wasn't he?
Lastly, he has started trying to converse with us. Actually, only Brayden. Scott and I have decided he is probably going to say "Brayden" first, because Brody is super fond of his big brother. Anyway, he has moved away from the ba-ba-ba kind of talking to more ba-da-ma-ca sort of talking....meaning he's mixing sounds instead of just repeating the same one over and over. What is he trying to do here? Grow up on his Momma? Why can't they just stay little?I am closing today with a picture of Brody standing all by himself. As an added bonus, you get to see the Brody-is-not-getting-his-way face. :-)
