Miscellaneous Rambling Thoughts

Sunday morning, Dad and Brayden made pancakes for breakfast. While moving around the kitchen, finishing up, Dad announces, "I didn't make them your way." "Okay," I replied. I checked them out, and sure enough, they weren't made my way (with flour, sugar, eggs....you know, like from scratch). He made them with Bisquick. He begins to explain, "I made them like your Mom makes them." I think he preferred Nan's method. I said, "Anyone can make pancakes from a box." Scott can't wait to talk to my Mom. :-)

For those of you that don't know me well, I occasionally (and by occasionally, I mean a lot) have difficulty finishing my thoughts out loud. I am especially bad about this with my family. I just expect they know me well enough to....well....read my mind. I always finish my thoughts in my head. As you can imagine, this drives my poor husband insane. He has quit asking me to finish most of the time. He knows eventually I'll finish telling him whatever story I got distracted from. Allbeit, it might be two days later, but he's patient. :-) I believe, however, it is time for me to stop this annoying habit. Here is why: Yesterday, Brayden and I were talking. I don't remember what I was saying to him, but I know I stopped mid-thought. Brayden waited for a minute, then repeated back whatever I had just said, punctuated with an "AND?" He was clearly annoyed. I promise I am going to try to do better.

The last rambling thought for today: Brody news. Little Brody has done worlds better sleeping at night. I hesitate to report such news. I am sure to curse myself over it later when Brody won't sleep. But for now, we are all sleeping better....and a much happier bunch to be around.

Brody has also started trying to clap his hands. This brings me great joy, because he gets so excited about it. Funny learning-to-clap moment: Brody was trying to clap his hands last night at the dinner table. In an effort to encourage him, we all started clapping. Yes, a full round of applause broke out at the dinner table. Brody quit trying to clap, and starting giggling in appreciation of the applause! :-) He's such a cutie.
Last, but not least, a picture! Brody doing one of his favorite things - Helping Mommy unload the dishwasher! :-) Until, of course, someone opens the fridge...then he is off to better things.
