Halloween came and went and the Orsburn boys racked up three big bowls of candy. Seriously. Being the no-sugar advocates that Scott and I are, I have no idea what we are going to do with all of this candy. What were we thinking? If anyone has any ideas, I am open to suggestions. :-)
The day started with the boys getting into the spirit by wearing their new Halloween shirts they got from Grammy. (Thank you, Grammy!) They were adorable! Like you really thought I was going to say something else.

(Side note here: Brayden has decided he will brush his own hair in the morning....which makes for some...um...interesting looks.)
After school, the boys got dressed in their costumes and we headed off to Walnut Street for the Trick or Treat event there. Since this is our first ever Halloween in Johnson City, this was our first trip to Walnut Street. It was fun, but terribly crowded. Because of the sheer number of people, and the fact they were ALL dressed in costumes, Brody was enthralled. It was slow going. Painfully slow. I think I said, "Come on, Brody" at least a thousand times in the hour we were there. He was in love with the idea he had this bag he carried and people would randomly put candy in it for him. He stopped quite a bit just to peek in his bag and make sure it was really happening. Of course, he had to sample the goods as well....I think he had about 4 suckers while we walked the street. Brayden, on the other hand, was trying his best to get to as many candy-booths as possible, and spent most of the time we were there way ahead of Brody and I. Luckily, Brayden was dressed as the Cat in the Hat and had a tall red and white hat that made him easy to spot. Note for the grandparents and other concerned persons: The place was crawling with policemen, so I was not super concerned for his safety.
After our Walnut Street trick or treating, we paused for a moment to pick up Dad. (Sadly for both of us, he missed out on the beginning of our adventures.) Off to see Nan and Pap and mooch some dinner out of them. (Thanks Nan and Pap!) After our visit and dinner with Nan and Pap, we went off to Towne Acres neighborhood for a little 'in-the-dark' trick or treating.
Here are a few pictures from our adventures...
Elmo!

The Cat in the Hat! As hard as I tried, I could hardly get him to do any fun tricks.

Trick or treat....smell my feet...oops. It was just Trick or Treat for these two.

Taking a break on the back of the firetruck. Notice the wrapper still on the sucker Brody is trying to enjoy.

Yea, Mom. Carry my bag for me while I try this orange sucker. :-)
All in all, a fun halloween. Now about all that candy...
