I know, I know....two days in a row. I am spoiling you guys rotten! :-) This looks to be a rather boring post, so don't get too excited.
I am going to post about the weather.
More specifically, the freezing cold temperatures and the SNOW that was falling last night and most of the morning today. I could practically feel the pain of my ski boots this morning. My little dainty feet were just itching to get into them. When I heard that Avery County, NC schools were out for snow today, I practically jumped out of the car with excitement. Avery County...the 45 minute drive to the ski slopes! Avery County....getting fresh non-man-made snow! I can hardly stand it.
An interesting little tid-bit of information some of you may or may not know = Scott and I got engaged on Sugar Mountain, NC. (Thank you Steve and Judy for the wonderful condo that we will forever hold in our memories.) We were engaged the day after Christmas sitting by the fireplace. It is a pretty funny story. Maybe I will share the whole thing one day. For now, you'll have to imagine with me....We were planning to ski the afternoon and night sessions the next day. Scott gave me the most beautiful diamond and once I had regained some of my composure, he informed me that I would not be wearing it the next day. Yep, he turned me into the screaming kid in the candy store that didn't get what she wanted. :-) Just kidding. Good memories. All of it. And now I am totally off the subject.
I think (and I am hesitant to even post it here for fear of wrecking the entire thing) Scott and I are going to try to go skiing the weekend after THANKSGIVING! This is huge news for us, because our ski trips have typically revolved around the Christmas holiday....since we usually traveled to East Tennessee the day after Christmas. I'll try to remember to take the camera. But for now, we will continue to hope for more S-N-O-W! :-)

I am glad that it is snowing on those who enjoy the snow...and *not* snowing on those of us who prefer to stay toasty warm and dry! :)
Okay. Now I'm jealous. Like...the ugly kind of jealous. The kind of jealous you really want to keep under tight wraps and probably in the darkest part of your personal closet. I don't think you know, but my family is a skiing family. I'm not talking we just love skiing. No ma'am. We've all been ski intstructors at one time or another, and we spent more than a decade renting houses in the Poconos (PA) and going up EVERY weekend to ski. My dad's been skiing since he was 18...to put it into perspective (my measly 20+ years doesn't even begin to compare to that mastery). Hello. We are a skiing obsessed family. We don't have skiing close to these parts (2 hrs....and for a *really* dinky mountain) so that whole family tradition thing will likely fall out a bit for the DC Ledfords, but I cannot wait to put Ian on skis. Seriously. And for anyone to marry into my family, by the way, they must be willing to learn, if not already pleased with skiing. Lucky for Michael, I confirmed his interest in skiing on probably our second date. I'm not joking. And oh yes, we don't do snowboarders. We're skiiers. Period. Wow. I just wrote a lot about skiing. Oops. LOL. ;)
